Apocalypse Update: Australia
The Reapers have come. They obviously weren't prepared as the kangaroos are beating up brutes. Drop bears are ambushing unwary husks. The bunyips are dragging cannibals underwater. The snakes and spiders have teamed up and attacked the banshees as have the crocodiles, jellyfish and sharks. I haven't seen a single marauder escape their clutches. It's bushfire season on one side of the continent and flooding on the other. This is the worst Reaper invasion ever.
"Promise me something," Shepard rolled on top of Kaidan.
"Anything."
"Never leave me. Don't let me fall."
"I will catch you before that happens."
Shepard smiled and kissed him before settling back down on her side, her arms wrapped around him.
It was one year. One year today that she died. Commander Skylar Shepard died. Kaidan downed the vodka shot before motioning to the bartender for a refill. Her face. I shifted in and out of consciousness at first but I soon discovered I had a bitch of a headache and I was pretty awake after that. How much did I drink? I cracked one blurry eye open. Where the hell was I? It looked like a makeshift hospital, but that couldn't be right. I groaned as the headache pulsed again.
